Yesterday Samsung presented its new device in London. There were many people sitting in front of their screens to see how this new Galaxy S III looks like and also discover the new features, and so were we!

Yesterday evening there were about 1500 persons attending the event, where more than half of them were journalists! This presentation followed month and month of rumors, and the highly-awaited Samsung Mobile Unpacked event finally revealed the most advanced smartphone from the Corean house with the slogan “Designed for Humans” or “Inspired by nature”.

Main characteristics:

The GS3 has a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display, a 8MP camera with intelligent features like Best Photo, a 2100mAh battery which should give this new Smartphone a better autonomy than its competitors, a 8.6mm thickness, and a 133g weight.

The GS3 design is inspired by Nature, for example the feedback sounds are composed from the sound of raindrops.

There are intelligent features too. The GS3 integers the Smart Stay feature which will track your eyes and keep the screen running while you look at it. There is also S Voice which will offer customizable voice recognition and voice commands.You can use 5 different sentences to wake up your GS3 such as “Hi buddy”. Then you can use a voice command to get the weather or you can say “I want to take a picture” and the phone will start the camera app. The phone knows British/American English, German, French, continental and South American Spanish, Japanese, and Korean.

There are new goodies on board such as a transfer tool called S Beam, which lets you send large files over a Wi-Fi connection.

The S3 comes in either blue or white. The white version is glossy, while the blue option sports a brushed-metal effect.

It runs Ice Cream Sandwich. There will be a MicroSD slot for expansion. The phone will be available in 16GB, 32GB, and finally 64GB. The official release date is May 29th in Europe. About the price: there is nothing official annouced yet, even though the GS 3 should be available starting from 599€ but there are no further details regarding the price of the different versions.
